The town centre area is called Old Oakville and is characterised by heritage homes on large treed lots. Many of the homes carry heritage plaques detailing the date of their construction, the name and occupation of the original occupants. Interspersed with the heritage homes are some newer townhouses and condo apartments. The main shopping street consists of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and a number of home décor and jewellery stores.
Old Oakville covers an area bounded by Chartwell Road in the East, Cornwall Road in the North and the natural boundaries of Sixteen Mile Creek in the West and Lake Ontario in the South.
Currently available properties range from $262,000 for a 2 bedroom apartment in a Co-op building to $9,398,000 for a 4 bedroom, 4bathroom property on a 100 x 334’ lot.
